22 Weeks pregnant with Laynie Magdalena

In the words of Bob Jovi..."Ooooo We're half way there!! Ohhhhhh!! Livin on a prayer!!" :)

This week I am 22 weeks pregnant meaning I'm over half way through my pregnancy because I will deliver no later than 39 weeks. So 17 weeks left!! woohoo!!

We decided on a name after the baby's gender reveal. Her name will be Laynie Magdalena. Corey's middle name is Layne and mine is Magdalena so it is a mix of our middle names. We definitely wanted this baby to have Corey's name in it because Rex is named Rex Adrian, with Adrian being after me. We knew we wanted to incorporate Layne into the baby's name whether it be boy or girl. We tossed around Laynie but weren't sure how we would spell it. We decided with l-a-y-n-i-e so that we could keep the spelling similar to the spelling of Corey's middle name. We chose Magdalena because it is my middle name and I've always dreamed of my little girl having my middle name, should I ever have a girl. God blessed us with her and Corey said yes! So Laynie Magdalena Robinson it is!

I felt Laynie for the first time at 17 weeks. I also felt Rex at 17 weeks so I was excited to feel her at the same time. She is definitely an active little girl and I feel her quite frequently. My sickness finally tapered off around week 18 or 19, thank GOD! That definitely was not enjoyable! I am so far beyond happy that it passed.

I had my 20 week ultrasound a couple of weeks ago. My mom went with me because Corey had to work. My appointment was early so I had not yet had anything to eat or drink for breakfast. It seems little Miss Laynie was not happy that her momma hadn't fed her yet and she was quite the wiggle worm  during the ultrasound. She would stretch, then kick, then flip, the kick, then turn. You name it, she did it! The poor ultrasound lady was getting pretty frustrated with her because she couldn't get the measurements she needed. At one point when I looked at her, she put her head on her hands and took a deep breath!! I felt so bad! I was apologizing left and right. She said, "Honey, don't apologize to me! I feel sorry for you!! You're going to have your hands full!!" I have a feeling she just might be right! She is definitely quite the wiggler and she likes to pounce on momma's organs throughout the day. She doesn't like to be cramped in, it seems. Today, every time I sat down, she would start kicking on me until I stood up. Once I stood up and gave her room to stretch, she was fine. Then I'd sit again and she start pouncing again! Little stinker! I love feeling her move though!!

I started showing a good bit by the time I was 20 weeks. I didn't show that much until I was about 6 months pregnant with Rex so Laynie is definitely showing a lot quicker.

My back has hurt quite a bit this time around too. I don't think my back really went back to normal after I had Rex. I've had problems off and on since he was born. When I got pregnant this time and started adding on the extra weight and belly, my back started hurting quite a bit. Some days its worse than others. I try to take it easy on the worse days.

High heels are pretty much a no-no for me from now on, which makes me sad! If you know me, you know I'm not exactly tall, by any standard! So I really depend on my heels to give me that extra boost so that my presence is known amongst my junior high students who are mostly well taller than I am! But until I'm ready for them again, no heels for me!

Daddy started working on her bedroom this weekend. We've decided to add some wood work to the walls to add a paneling/wainscoting effect. The colors will be pink and cream and we're doing an elegant/classic look. Corey and Cody started on it Saturday. I know it will be a project that spreads over a few weeks. There's quite a bit going on and it's a lot of work they will do by the time it's all said and done. Right now the rest of the room is a dump spot until we get every thing situated in there. I can't wait to get it together more as time goes on!

I have a doctors appointment on Wednesday just to review the ultrasound and for my monthly check. Next time we "see" Laynie will be when we do the 4D ultrasound around 28 weeks.
